‘Failte: A Welcome to Ullapool’ to be launched in February 2007’
Composer: James Douglas (now based in Ullapool) has just announced the World Premiere of a new work for Trumpets and Piano, promoting the village of Ullapool, the piece will be called: ‘Failte: A Quick Guide to Ullapool.’ This musical guide will take in 5 important businesses in the village and will entice the audience with its musical ideas. It is hoped that the piece will be used to promote Ullapool.’ The piece will be performed as part of a ‘Winter Dreams’ Concert to be undertaken by Classical Ensemble: ‘The Glorious Company’, to be held at The Macphail Centre on Friday 2nd February 2007 at 7.30pm. The concert will also include 'The Ullapool Fanfare', an exciting and tuneful work which will herald in the concert and set the tone for what promises to be a wonderful evening of music.
All are most welcome (suitable for all ages), to come and hear the World Premiere of ‘Failte’ and much more, which this prolific Composer has written for the village and for some of its businesses itself. Performers will include 'The Glorious Company' who comprise of: Alistair Neally and Pam Brown (Trumpets), Richard Mein (Baritone), James Douglas (Piano) and Katharine Douglas (Soprano).
